The WordPress Family Award

I received my first award today and I feel honored.  (Can I put this on my resume? – lol) Because it is my first award, I’m not sure what to write. I’ve been blogging for three months and prior to that had not done any writing for many years – not counting historical research papers for college.

Smilngbug nominated me for the WordPress Family Award. Please visit her blog here:

Thank you, Smilingbug for nominating me for this award.

As a condition for accepting the nomination, I am presenting 15 awards to deserving bloggers.

This part is difficult.  I follow many more than 15 bloggers and I add new blogs to my reader every day who also deserve the award.  I am posting 15 blogs that I read regularly but want the rest of you to know that I enjoy your blogs as well.   Some of the blogs make me laugh or smile, some make me cry and some of them make me think about things.  None of the blogs are alike in theme in any way.  I hope you will visit each of these blogs.

The Jittery Goat

Pride’s Purge

Nenagh Silent Film Festival

Movies Silently

My Best Enemy

Writings from Dr. Oolie’s Pond

Gotta Find a Home

Drinking Tips for Teens

Harsh Reality

Living Life to the Fullest from the End Stage

Suzie81’s blog

Valeriu dg barbu blog

Weggieboy’s blog

The conditions for accepting the nomination for the WordPress award are as follows:

Display the Award Certificate on your blog.

Announce your win with a post. Make sure you post a link back to me as a ‘thank you’ for the nomination.

Present 15 awards to 15 deserving bloggers.

Leave them a comment to let them know after you have linked them to a post.

Post 7 interesting things about yourself.

I wanted to include The Rider in the list of 15 bloggers but I see that he has (and prefers) an “awards free blog.”

Seven interesting (or weird) things about myself:

I have a collection of thousands of antique and contemporary family photos. I am the go-to person for old family photos and incriminating photos.

The subject matter in my blog is usually serious, but I enjoy humor.

I love brussel sprouts.  Sometimes I get a craving for brussel sprouts. This is not normal.

I read books. I don’t own a Kindle.

I am emotional but don’t really show it.

I enjoy doing yard work – mowing, weed trimming, gardening and am proficient with a few power tools.

I have a high pain tolerance.  When I volunteered at the animal shelter, I was called when it was time to give animal meds, clip claws or catch and handle feral cats.

Thank you Smilingbug for nominating me for the WordPress Family Award.  I feel like part of the family now.

I’m so happy that you enjoyed this award because you deserve it. Maybe one day you’ll blog about how you archive your family’s photos because that is supposed to be my job and I’m not doing so well with it, ha! Your list of interesting facts are making me look forward to more of your blogs. Welcome to the family! (I’m new, too.)

I’m sure we will both be blogging about a lot of different things. I hope to post some of the more interesting photos as time goes on. Thank you for thinking of me.

I also like brussel sprouts. Always have. My son tells me they are the hot new thing …

Thanks! I’m a bit confused about these things, but recommendations are recommendations!

Congratulations and thank you for the nomination. I’m still a little burned out from the last two awards I got last month so it will be a little while before I dive into figuring out what more to share about myself (though it IS on my to do list). Thanks again!

  10. Thanks for the nomination! I have to try and work out now how to return the favor! Where does one go to set about nominating a blog, or is that a ridiculous query! Congrats on your award too and I really appreciate your regular support of the Nenagh Silent Film Festival Blog!

    With Regards,
    Michael ‘Charlie’

I nominated your blog because I enjoy reading it. If you have blogs that you would like to nominate, you can copy the format of my post and add your own blogs.
