I have been known to spend hours in the greeting card section of a store looking for just the right greeting card. Friends and family would be amused if they knew the care I take in selecting cards for them.
I’ll also admit that I get more emotional now than I have in the past. But I’ve always stood in the card section of the Hallmark store crying my eyes out as I read the sentiments printed in the cards. I’ve never been embarrassed about it because I think I’m not the only one who gets too sentimental reading the cards on display. However, my eyes are usually filled with tears so I can’t see the tears of my fellow shoppers.
I’ll also spend too much money at the card store at this time of year because the store usually has a good selection of Christmas themed items that bring back memories of Christmas during my childhood. I can’t believe how much the lighted snow globes call out to me to “buy them” as I’m trying to leave the store without overspending my salary.
I should really stay out of Hallmark and Christmas stores until I have this problem under control.
